Newport Turkey Trot
The Newport Turkey Trot is a community running event held on Thanksgiving morning in Newport, Oregon. The course runs near Yaquina Bay, the Hatfield Marine Science Center, and the Pacific Ocean. This is the 13th annual edition.
Distances available include:
- 5K Walk/Run
- 10K Run
- Kids Fun Run (1 mile)
The event includes separate categories such as a youth 5K and team registration options for social, corporate, and school teams. Published registration fees list $40 for adult 5K and 10K entries, $30 for the youth 5K, and $5 for the Kids Fun Run. Shirts are optional and available for purchase for $13 or $20 depending on purchase timing.
Each participant receives a finisher's medal and chip-timed results. The course is described as flat with coastal views. A portion of every registration is designated to support Food Share of Lincoln County. The event also features a costume contest with prizes and recognition for the team with the most participants.
