Trident Newport Sprint Triathlon
Held in Newport, Rhode Island on June 14, 2026, the Trident Newport Sprint Triathlon uses Fort Adams State Park and adjacent waterfront areas as its primary venue. The course follows sheltered waters, coastal roads, and park grounds, and is presented as a sprint distance format.
- 0.33 mile protected swim inside Fort Adams cove beside the SSV Oliver Hazard Perry
- 11.6 mile bike ride along Ocean Drive with rolling terrain and ocean views
- 3 mile run through Fort Adams State Park, including sections inside the fort
The event offers both individual and relay team entries, each covering a total of 15 miles. Individual registration opens January 5, 2026 and closes March 31, 2026 with a registration fee of $75. Relay team registration opens April 1, 2026 and closes May 31, 2026 with a registration fee of $175.
This race is sanctioned by USA Triathlon. All participants are required to be current USAT members or purchase a one-day USAT membership during registration, and all registrants must complete and sign the USAT waiver prior to competing.
