Newport Sprint Triathlon

About the race

The Newport Sprint Triathlon is a USA Triathlon sanctioned sprint-distance race held at Fort Adams in Newport, Rhode Island. The event offers individual and relay team entries and is presented by Trident Waterproofing and Masonry. Entry fees listed for the two event types are $85.00 for individual competitors and $185.00 for relay teams.

The course uses coastal and historic locations around Fort Adams. The swim takes place inside Fort Adams cove beside the SSV Oliver Hazard Perry. The bike follows Ocean Drive and includes rolling terrain and continuous ocean views. The run finishes with laps through Fort Adams State Park, including sections inside the historic fort and along the waterfront grounds.

All participants must be current USA Triathlon members or purchase a one-day USAT membership during registration. Every registrant must complete and sign the USAT waiver before competing; no athlete may race without a valid USAT membership and a signed waiver.
