Newport Rhode Races takes place in Newport, Rhode Island on April 18, 2026. The event finishes and stages at Easton’s Beach (175 Memorial Blvd). Distances offered include a full marathon, half marathon, 5K, Beach Mile, and virtual options for the full, half and 5K. The full and half marathon courses are USATF certified and the full marathon is a Boston Marathon qualifier. The event is R.I. Department of Environmental Management Green-Certified.
Courses, logistics and amenities
- Marathon - 26.2 mi, total ascent 747.42 ft, max elevation 15.75 ft
- Half Marathon - 13.1 mi, follows the first half of the marathon route
- 5K - route on Memorial Blvd and Cliff Dr, out-and-back to the finish
- Beach Mile - out-and-back on Easton’s Beach
Aid stations are located roughly every 2 miles with water and Nuun; some stations provide Gu gels and bananas. Port-a-potties are at every aid station. Time limits are enforced: marathon 6 hours, half marathon 3.5 hours, 5K 1 hour, Beach Mile 30 minutes. Pacers are provided for a range of target times for both the half and full marathon. Packet pick-up is available at Providence and Middletown locations and race-day pick-up can be reserved. Race amenities include tech shirts, free event photos, finisher medals for half and full marathon, RaceJoy live tracking, post-race food, free post-race massages, one complimentary beer for participants of age, and YMCA showers.
