Newport Rhode Races
The Newport Rhode Races take place in Newport, Rhode Island on Saturday, April 17, 2027. The event program includes a full marathon, a half marathon and a 5k, and the marathon course is USATF certified and a Boston Marathon qualifier. The races start and finish at Easton’s Beach and the routes run along Newport’s shoreline, passing historic mansions, rocky shorelines and ocean vistas. The courses also pass areas with daffodils as part of a partnership with the Newport Daffodil Days Festival.
Distances:
- Marathon: 26.2 miles
- Half Marathon: 13.1 miles
- 5k
Course details note a total ascent of about 747 ft and a maximum elevation near 16 ft. Aid stations are placed throughout the courses; some stations provide energy gels, an electrolyte drink and bananas, and port-a-potties are available at every aid station. Pace groups are offered for set finish times for both distances. Official course limits apply: marathon 6 hours and half marathon 3.5 hours. Participant parking and shuttle services are organized from Second Beach and the Aquidneck Industrial Park; shuttles require visible bibs for boarding. The organizer is Green-Certified and requests that participants and visitors respect dunes, use trash receptacles and recycle. Post-race amenities include race-specific shirts and medals, free race photos, a post-race festival at Easton’s Beach, and on-site recovery services such as free post-race massages and access to YMCA facilities.
