Newport Rhode Races

Newport Rhode Races stages a spring marathon and half marathon in Newport, Rhode Island on April 17, 2027. The events start and finish near Easton’s Beach and run along seaside roads that pass historic mansions, rocky shorelines and ocean vistas. The race partners with the Newport Daffodil Days Festival and the courses pass through areas with large daffodil displays.

• 26.2 mi Marathon
• 13.1 mi Half Marathon

The marathon course is USATF certified and serves as a Boston Marathon qualifier. The half follows the first 13.1 miles of the full course. Official course time limits apply: marathon 6 hours, half marathon 3.5 hours. Pace groups are provided at specific target finish times for both distances. Aid stations and medical support are available along the course; many aid stations offer water, electrolyte drink, some energy gels and bananas. Port-a-potties are located at every aid station.

Participant amenities include gender and race specific tech shirts, finisher medals, free race photos, live runner tracking via the RaceJoy app, and a post-race festival at the beach with recovery services. Post-race recovery offerings include sponsored massages and access to YMCA facilities for showers. The event is Green-Certified by the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management and supports several local conservation and community charities.
