Event overview
The Newport Rhode Races take place in Newport, Rhode Island on April 18, 2026, with the start and finish located at Easton's Beach. Course and logistics
The full marathon route covers 26.2 miles around Newport and Middletown, with a total ascent of 747.42 ft and a maximum elevation of 15.75 ft. The half marathon follows the first 13.1 miles of the full course. Aid stations are provided along the courses; some will offer GU energy gels, Nuun electrolyte drink, bananas and port-a-potties at every aid station. Parking and shuttle pickup locations are designated for different race distances and for spectators; shuttles and restricted lane use are part of the race-day traffic plan.
Amenities and awards
Race registrations include gender- and race-specific tech shirts (size exchanges available after the race), free event photos, and finisher medals for marathon and half-marathon finishers. A post-race festival and recovery area are hosted near the finish with food, a beer garden, and free post-race massages.
