Newport Marathon and Half Marathon
The Amica Newport Marathon is an annual coastal running event held in Newport and Middletown, Rhode Island. The 17th edition of the race is scheduled for October 11, 2026. Both available courses start and finish at Easton's Beach and have been voted among the best in the United States by various publications for their scenic quality and organization.
Available distances include:
- 26.2 miles (Full Marathon)
- 13.1 miles (Half Marathon)
Both courses are USATF-certified, and the full marathon serves as a qualifier for the Boston Marathon. The routes take runners past notable landmarks, including the historic Bellevue Avenue mansions and the Atlantic coastline. Participants can benefit from live runner tracking and split times provided through a dedicated app.
There is no parking at the start and finish area. Instead, the event provides continuous shuttle services from designated parking lots at Second Beach and Aquidneck Corporate Park. Amenities at the finish line include a gear bag drop, a beer garden hosted by a local brewery, and post-race food. All finishers receive a medal, and awards are given to the top three male and female runners as well as the top three in various age groups ranging from under 19 up to 70+.
The event also focuses on charitable impact. A portion of each race entry fee is donated to local nonprofit organizations. To date, the event has raised over $700,000 for its charitable partners. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
