Newport 10 Miler
The Newport 10 Miler is an annual 10 mile road race held in Newport, Rhode Island, with a course that begins and finishes at Fort Adams State Park and follows coastal, waterfront roads. The event takes place on June 6, 2027 as the 14th running of the race and attracts several thousand runners and walkers.
The event supports local charities, including the Fort Adams Trust and the Boys and Girls Club of Newport County. Registered participants receive a race bib with timing chip and an athlete shirt at packet pick-up; onsite registration is available on all packet pick-up days. All participants must show a photo ID at pick-up; someone may pick up for another participant if they provide a copy or photo of that person’s ID. Shirts picked up on race morning may be distributed after the race due to time constraints.
A gear bag drop is available inside Fort Adams near bib pick-up. Athletes must provide their own bag and will use their assigned registration number to identify it.
Parking is provided at Fort Adams with about a half mile walk to the starting area and is first-come-first-park. Bike racks will be provided on site to support cycling to the event. All finishers receive a finisher’s medal. Awards are presented to the top three male and top three female finishers and to the top finisher in each age group, in 5 year increments from Under 19 through 70 and over. A post race beer garden from a local craft brewery is offered, with one complimentary beer for registrants age 21 and over and additional beer available for purchase.
