Newport 10 Miler
The Newport 10 Miler is a ten mile run and walk that starts and finishes at Fort Adams State Park in Newport, Rhode Island. The course runs along the waterfront and offers coastal scenery. The event supports the Fort Adams Trust and the Boys and Girls Club of Newport County.
Packet pick-up and onsite registration are held on multiple days before the race at Ragged Island Brewing and at Fort Adams. Registered participants receive a race bib with a timing chip and an athlete shirt at registration; a photo ID is required for pick-up. Participants may collect bibs for others if they provide a copy or photo of that person’s ID. Note that participants who pick up their bibs on race morning may not receive shirts until after the event.
A designated gear bag drop is available near bib pick-up inside Fort Adams. Athletes must bring their own bag and will identify it using the number assigned during registration.
Parking is available at Fort Adams; the walk from parking to the start area is about half a mile. Parking fills on a first-come-first-park basis. An off site option is to park at Rogers High School and ride into the park; BikeNewport provides bike racks on site.
All finishers receive a finisher’s medal. Awards are presented to the top three male and female overall finishers and to the top competitor in each age group, listed in five year increments from Under 19 through 70 plus. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
