Newcastle MoRun at Exhibition Park
Newcastle MoRun takes place at Exhibition Park, Newcastle Upon Tyne (postcode NE2 4PZ). The event offers multiple chip timed distances:
- 1.5 km Mini MoRun, fully race chipped
- 5 km MoRun : one lap
- 10 km MoRun : two laps
- Half Marathon MoRun : initial 1.1 km loop then four full laps
The course is a mix of path and tarmac, generally flat, dog friendly and suitable for buggy running though some sections can be bumpy. The route is not suitable for wheelchairs. Runners follow course markings when approaching the finish: 5 km runners keep right while 10 km and half marathon runners stay left for additional laps; after a final lap all runners head right to the finish.
Race services and event facilities include full race chip timing with instant results, both gun and net times, finisher medals and headbands, drinks and sweets at the finish, toilets in the event hub, and limited bag storage under manned gazebos. There are bonus medals and spot prizes for categories such as best dressed and fastest moustache.
There is no parking within Exhibition Park, so attendees are asked to use nearby parking, walk, cycle or use public transport where possible. MoRunning supports Movember and raises funds and awareness for prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention; participants can make donations or set up fundraising pages.
