About the race

The Newcastle 10K takes place on Saturday 23 January 2027 along the Quayside in Newcastle upon Tyne. The event uses a flat out and back route along the riverfront that passes beneath the Swing Bridge, High Level Bridge, Queen Elizabeth II Bridge, King Edward VII Bridge and Redheugh Bridge, and provides views of the Tyne Bridge, Gateshead Millennium Bridge, the Glasshouse and the BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art, finishing with the Millennium Bridge as a backdrop.

The race is chip timed and forms part of the Top Flight Race Series. Entry includes a themed medal, free race photos, post race goodies, bag drop and a livestream of the race. The organiser plans full road closures for the route and expects over 3,000 runners. There is a 90 minute race cut off due to road closures and a minimum age of 15.

Race pack collection takes place from the Event Village on the day; participants should bring booking confirmation and photo ID. There is an on-course water station at approximately 5 km and water and refreshments at the finish. The event lists The Children’s Foundation as its 2027 charity partner.
