Event Overview

The Newcastle 10K will take place on Saturday, 23 January 2027. The event is located at the Quayside in Newcastle upon Tyne.

The Course

The race is a 10 km out-and-back route along the Newcastle Quayside. The course passes beneath several bridges, including the Swing Bridge, High Level Bridge, Queen Elizabeth II Bridge, King Edward VII Bridge, and Redheugh Bridge. Runners can see landmarks such as the Tyne Bridge, the Gateshead Millennium Bridge, the Glasshouse, and the BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art. The route is described as flat. The event expects over 3,000 participants and features full road closures.

Race Options

Participants can enter two categories for the 10K distance:

  • 10K A-race: For runners aiming to finish in under 40 minutes.
  • 10K B-race: A standard 10K event.
