Run Northumberland BIG 10 Miler 2026
The Run Northumberland BIG 10 Miler is a two-lap road race covering 10 miles around the village of Matfen, Newcastle upon Tyne (NE20 0RJ). The route is described as undulating and is largely traffic free due to road closures. The finish is on the village by-pass close to the start area.
Race headquarters and registration are at Matfen Village Hall. Registration is scheduled from 8.30am to 9.30am on race day. Parking is available on the village by-pass opposite Matfen Hall. Toilets, changing facilities, bag drop and refreshments are provided at the village hall.
Chip timing is provided by Timing4Sport. Distance markers are placed every mile and there are water stations approximately every three miles. The surface is road and the minimum age for entry is 17.
Entries are limited to 300. Affiliated entry fee is £25 and unaffiliated entry fee is £27. Entries close on 23 November 2026. Finishers receive a medal and there are individual prizes for 1st to 3rd overall, age group prizes for W35+ and M40+ in five year bands subject to minimum entry thresholds, and team prizes for UKA affiliated clubs where teams of three finish in official club vests.
