The Run Northumberland BIG 10 Miler is a two-lap 10 mile road race held around the village of Matfen, Newcastle upon Tyne NE20 0RJ, UK on 29th November 2026. The course is described as undulating, traffic free via road closures, and finishes on the village by-pass near the start area. The event is limited to 300 entries and has a minimum age of 17.
Logistics and race services
Registration and bag drop are at Matfen Village Hall. Parking is on the village by-pass opposite Matfen Hall. Toilets and changing facilities are available near the start and finish. Chip timing is provided by Timing4Sport; distance markers are placed every mile and there are water stations approximately every 3 miles. Results are based on gun time; chip time is provided for personal use.
Entries and prizes
Entry fees are from £25.00 for affiliated runners and £27.00 for unaffiliated runners. Entries close on 23rd November 2026 and on-the-day places are not guaranteed. Finishers receive a medal. Individual prizes include trophies and vouchers for the top three male and female finishers (first prize includes a trophy and a £50 voucher). Age-group prizes are offered in five-year bands for Women 35+ and Men 40+ with a minimum of five finishers per band. Team prizes apply to UKA affiliated clubs where three club-vested runners finish.
