Run Northumberland BIG 10 Miler : Matfen, 29 November 2026
The Run Northumberland BIG 10 Miler is a road race held around the village of Matfen, Newcastle upon Tyne NE20 0RJ. The event uses a two-lap undulating course on closed roads and finishes on the village by-pass near the start area. The surface is road and distance markers are provided every mile. Water stations are positioned approximately every 3 miles.
Race services are centred on Matfen Village Hall, which is the registration point and provides bag drop, toilets, changing facilities and refreshments. Parking is available on the village by-pass opposite Matfen Hall. Chip timing is provided by Timing4Sport; official results and finishing positions are based on gun time rather than chip time. Entries are limited to 300 and the minimum age to enter is 17.
Entry categories include affiliated and unaffiliated fees, with affiliated entry fee listed as £25.00 and unaffiliated as £27.00; entries close on 23 November 2026. On-the-day entry places are not guaranteed. Prizes include a finisher medal, individual trophies and vouchers for top finishers, age group prizes in 5-year bands for women 35+ and men 40+ (minimum five finishers per band required), and team prizes for UKA affiliated clubs where at least three club runners finish wearing official vests.
