The Run Northumberland BIG 10 Miler takes place on 30th November 2025 in Matfen, Newcastle upon Tyne (Village Hall, Matfen, NE20 0RJ). Distance: 10 Miles on a two-lap, undulating road course around the village that finishes on the village by-pass near the start area. The route uses closed roads (traffic free - road closures). Minimum age to enter is 17. Chip timing is provided by Timing4Sport. Entries are limited to 250 and close on 28th November 2025. Entry fees are £24.00 for affiliated runners and £26.00 for unaffiliated runners.
Race day information
Race headquarters and registration are at Matfen Village Hall; registration is held at the Village Hall and bag drop and refreshments are provided there. Facilities listed include toilets near the start/finish area and changing facilities. Parking is on the village by-pass opposite Matfen Hall, and parking is described as close to the start. The course has distance markers every mile and bottled water stations approximately every 3 miles. Finishers receive a medal. Individual prizes are awarded to the first three male and first three female finishers (1st: trophy and £50 voucher; 2nd: £30 voucher; 3rd: £20 voucher). Age-group prizes cover Women 35+ and Men 40+ in 5-year bands, with a minimum of five finishers required to qualify.
