ChrisRunsChristmas: The Final Leg
This is the final stage of a long fundraising run that covers the last stretch from Newcastle Central Station to Great Park Community Centre. The route is approximately 8 miles and is presented as a community run rather than a race.
Participants assemble at Newcastle Central Station and proceed together to the finish at Great Park Community Centre. The event follows a multi-day challenge totalling 1,000 miles completed over 17 days and represents the concluding section of that effort to raise funds for Cash for Kids North East.
The pace is intended to be social and supportive, with walkers, joggers and runners welcome. The finish area at Great Park Community Centre includes post-run celebrations with food vans, activities and entertainment for attendees.
The description of the event emphasises community presence and shared support for the fund-raising objective rather than competition or timed results. Attendance is in person and the event duration is noted as approximately two hours. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
