New Year's Prediction 5K and 1 Mile Run/Walk
This event takes place on 01/01/2027 at Los Poblanos Open Space, 6000 Los Poblanos Field Trails, Albuquerque, NM 87107, United States. It offers two unofficial start-anytime running and walking options with an unusual timing format: participants begin when they choose and try to match a shared target finish time without using watches, phones, or other timing devices on the course. After completing their chosen course, participants will gather together as a group.
Registration opened on 11/01/2026 and closed online on 12/31/2026; on-site registration will be available at 9:30am on the event day. There is no registration fee for either distance.
The event places emphasis on the recovery community, honoring people who have worked to overcome addiction and recognizing those still in recovery. Organizers accept donations through Movement is Medicine LLC; all proceeds will be donated to a local recovery program, Soul Recovery Cafe, and there is a stated fundraising goal of $5,000.
