New Year's Day Triathlon - Edinburgh
The New Year's Day Triathlon takes place in Edinburgh on 01 Jan 2027 and is organised by Edinburgh Triathletes. This is the 30th edition of the event, which was introduced as part of the Edinburgh Hogmanay Festival. The venue for the race is the Royal Commonwealth Pool, Dalkeith Road, Edinburgh EH16 5BB.
The main race combines swimming, cycling and running around Arthur's Seat with a race memento provided to every entrant. A relay team option is available. Edinburgh Triathletes offers training hints and access to coaching support for those seeking guidance.
A separate children's duathlon is offered for 8 to 15 year olds, conducted on closed roads and consisting of short run, bike and short run stages.

- 400 m swim (8 lengths of the Commie Pool)
- 11 mile cycle (three times around Arthur's Seat, clockwise)
- 3.5 mile run (once around Arthur's Seat, clockwise)
- Children's duathlon: short run, 2 km bike, short run
Entries are open with a closing date of 21 Dec 2026. Total places are listed as 425; current availability is not specified.
