Edinburgh MoRun at Holyrood Park
Edinburgh MoRun is a charity running event supporting Movember and men's health, held at Holyrood Park, Queen's Drive, EH8 8HG. The event offers multiple timed race distances and a children's Mini MoRun. The course is essentially road running, hilly for the first 2 km, and is described as dog friendly, suitable for buggy running, and accessible for wheelchairs. The 5k is one lap, the 10k is two laps and the half marathon is four laps.
Race entries include a race chip and chip-on-bib timing, a headband, and a finish medal. There are refreshments and sweets available, plus prize categories such as best dressed and fastest Mo, with spot prizes and bonus medals. Results show both gun time and net time; official placings are based on gun time.
Event logistics note limited parking within the park and that one park area used by the event team is not available for public parking. The event hub is on Parade Ground on Queen's Drive opposite St Margaret's Well. Registration issues include collection of race number, chip, safety pins and headband, and a recommendation to travel light because bag storage is limited and managed under manned gazebos. Toilets are located in the event hub and marshals will be present around the course. A warm up with music and a fancy dress competition are part of the event program.
