New Year's Day Run 5K McKinney
The event takes place in McKinney, Texas with the start and finish at The Stix Icehouse, 301 Eldorado Pkwy #100. Races are held on a Wilson Creek Trail course and include multiple event formats.

- 5K on Wilson Creek Trail; breakfast and post-race beverage included.
- 1 Mile Fun Run on the trail; pets allowed in this event.
- Virtual Run with shirt and finisher medal mailed the week after race day.
Included items and services Participants in the in-person events receive a breakfast pass that includes an American breakfast and a beer or mimosa for those 21 and over with valid ID. A race t-shirt and a finisher medal are listed as part of event swag; availability of specific shirt sizes depends on registration timing. Virtual participants receive their t-shirt and medal by mail after the event.
Course and safety notes Two water stops are provided on the 5K course. Use of personal music devices is strongly discouraged for safety. Per stated race rules, pets are not allowed on the 5K course; strollers may be integrated safely. The minimum age for the 5K is six years; there is no minimum age for the 1 mile event.
Awards and timing The 5K awards overall and masters male and female finishers plus top three male and female finishers in multiple age groups.
