Event Overview
The New Year's Day Run 5K McKinney is a running event on January 1, 2027. The event offers three options: a 5K Run, a 1M Fun Run, and a Virtual Run.
The Course and Activities
The 5K and 1 Mile courses take place on the Wilson Creek Trail. The 5K course has two water stops. Both races start and finish at The Stix Icehouse at 301 Eldorado Parkway in McKinney, Texas. Parking is available in multiple lots around the venue.
Included Amenities
Registration for the in-person events includes a breakfast taco and a choice of a beer or mimosa for participants aged 21 and over. A finisher medal and an event t-shirt are also provided, though t-shirt availability for late registrants is not guaranteed. A brunch is served after the race.
Event Details
Packet pickup is available on two days prior to the event, as well as on race morning. The 5K is a timed race with awards for top overall, masters, and age group finishers. The 1 Mile Fun Run is not timed and has no awards. For safety, the use of personal music devices is discouraged, and no pets are allowed on the 5K course (pets are permitted in the 1 Mile event).
