About the race
The Mental Health Awareness 5K Run and Walk-Together is scheduled for May 22, 2027 in Lucas, Texas at 11 Horsemen Drive, #2445. The event is organized by Camp2020 as the 5th Annual 5K Run/Walk Challenge and will benefit Mental Health of America and NAMI awareness through education intended to reduce stigma.
Runners and walkers can choose between two event options:
- 5K : 3.14 Miles
- Fun walk : 2 Miles
Registration for the 5K opens 01/04/2027 and for the fun walk opens 01/28/2027; registration closes 05/22/2027. The published registration fees are $40.00 for the 5K and $25.00 for the fun walk. The event will be chip timed by Chip-2-Chip Race Timing.
The course is described as flat and follows scenic back roads in Lucas, Texas. Award categories for the 5K include 1st through 3rd overall finishers for men and women, a 1st place overall Masters (40+) for men and women, and 1st through 3rd place age group awards for men and women in the following groups: 14 & Under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, and 65+.
