The New Year’s Day 5K Run/Walk takes place on January 1, 2026 in Knoxville, Tennessee, using Neyland Drive with activities centered at Calhoun’s on the River. The event includes three options: a 5K, a Kids Run, and a virtual 5K. Registration prices listed for the events are $40 for the 5K, $15 for the Kids Run, and $40 for the virtual 5K. The 5K features age-based early pricing through December 28: ages 4-12 and ages 13-17 at reduced rates. Knoxville Track Club members are eligible for a $5 discount. Referral incentives and race day packet pickup are offered.

Course, awards, and rules
The 5K course is certified. The Kids Run is a 1-mile out-and-back route. Awards are given to the top male and female finishers and to the oldest and youngest male and female; awards are distributed to the top 100 men and women as they cross the finish line. There are no age-group awards. The 5K course closes after 1 hour and 15 minutes. Roller blades, strollers, bicycles, and dogs are not allowed on the course. Grand Prix points are awarded as part of a team competition; eligibility requires Knoxville Track Club membership and volunteering at a minimum of three KTC races during the year.
