About the race
The event takes place on January 1, 2027 at Pratt Park in Fredericksburg, Virginia. It includes distances for runners and families with a kids one mile, a 5 km, and a 10 km.

The course is paved, fairly flat, with minimal hills. The 5 km course is an out-and-back once; the 10 km runs the 5 km course twice. Walkers and strollers are welcome. A virtual race option is offered for participants who cannot attend in person.
Participants receive a finisher’s medal, a technical Drifit event shirt, and chip timing. Water stations are provided along the courses: eight stations on the 10 km at approximate mile markers 0.75, 1.25, 1.85, 2.35, 3.85, 4.35, 4.95, and 5.45; four stations on the 5 km at approximate mile markers 0.75, 1.25, 1.85, and 2.35. Gatorade will be available at some water stations. Restrooms are located near the parking lot.
The race benefits the charity Furnish A Home Again. Points from this event count toward the Year‑Long 5k, 10k, Kids, and Back of the Pack Series and toward the Winter Series. Packet pickup is available at the event. Race day registration is offered and t shirt sizes cannot be guaranteed for race day registrants.
Awards are given to the top three men and top three women overall and to first and second place male and female in standard age categories. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
