New Forest Trail Run (Brockenhurst)
The New Forest Trail Run takes place from Roundhill Campsite near Brockenhurst, inside the New Forest National Park, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The course follows wide, hard packed gravel paths through ancient woodland and open heathland.
Runners may encounter New Forest ponies, horses, donkeys and deer grazing near the trails. The route is well maintained and solid underfoot, making the trails runnable in a range of weather conditions. The half marathon route has around 185 m of elevation gain and the terrain is described as slightly undulating with gentle rises and falls.
Three marked distances are offered, each following flowing, easy-to-follow trails. The course is signed with pink arrows and pink tape, and hazards or road junctions are marked with caution signs. The event is plastic free and water stations use reusable cups or bottles.
Entries include chip timing, on-course refreshments, first aid cover and marshals. Finishers receive a metal medal, a finisher gift and a personalised certificate. The event lists additional support such as water stations and friendly marshals to assist participants on course. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
