Race on the Chase features marathon, half marathon and 10k routes across rolling chalk downland, woodland and ancient sites in Martin Down, finishing at Salisbury Racecourse. Every finisher gets a medal and the top three men and women win trophies.

Event overview

Race on the Chase is organised by Tri-Counties Trail Running and is scheduled for 27 September 2026 at Salisbury Racecourse (SP2 8PN), about 3 miles from Salisbury city centre. The venue includes permanent toilets, hot showers, large indoor space and a hard parking area. Every finisher receives a medal, and the first three finishers in each event (male and female) receive a trophy.

Race details

All distances follow similar terrain through undulating downland, ancient tracks or droves, grassy field margins, shady woodland paths and the turf of Martin Down Nature Reserve. The route passes through open countryside and villages and includes several historic features such as a Roman villa at Rockbourne, Bronze Age burial mounds, Bockerley Dike (an Iron Age earthwork) and other Neolithic sites.
