Nene Valley Trail Run

The Nene Valley Trail Run is an off-road running event held in the Northamptonshire countryside near Peterborough. The race takes place on tracks and paths through the Nene Valley, passing through green fields, ancient woodlands, and quiet villages. The course includes sections along rivers and disused railway tracks.

Participants can choose from two distances:

  • 10 miles
  • 20 miles

The event starts and finishes at Castle Farm Campsite in Fotheringhay. Both routes are fully marked and marshalled, removing the need for participants to navigate the course themselves. Aid stations are located along the routes; however, the race is operated as an eco-friendly event, and runners are required to provide their own cups or bottles for water.

On-site facilities at the campsite include portaloos, though no showers are available. Camping is offered on both Friday and Saturday nights for those who wish to stay at the venue. Participants have the option to receive a t-shirt or make a donation to the Trees not Tees initiative during the registration process. Additionally, a portion of the entry fee is donated to Kings Cliffe Active, a local charity that supports health and fitness in the community.

The courses are designed to be accessible for those new to trail running while also providing a scenic route for experienced runners. Registration is handled online, and participants may transfer their place to another person if they are unable to attend, subject to specific deadlines.
