Bauble Bimble
The Bauble Bimble is a multi-distance running event held at Ferry Meadows, one of the largest country parks in the region. Located less than three miles from Peterborough City Centre within Nene Park, the venue features a varied landscape of forests and open spaces.
Participants compete on a 5.3 km lap course consisting of gravel footpaths and grass areas. This is a timed challenge format where runners can complete as many or as few laps as they wish within a four-hour or six-hour window. The event is designed with straightforward logistics and minimal navigation requirements. Available distances include:
- 5 km
- 10 km
- Half Marathon (typically 5 laps)
- Full Marathon
- Ultra Marathon (9 laps or more)
The Race HQ and a central aid station are located at the start and lap point. As this is a cupless event, participants must bring their own bottles or cups for refilling. While road trainers are often sufficient for the country park footpaths, trail shoes may be used depending on weather conditions.
The event takes place in December, and festive fancy dress is permitted. All finishers receive a medal, with options for either a bespoke event-specific medal or a non-specific finisher medal. Facilities at the site include a main toilet block and chargeable parking at Ham Lane. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
