Event Overview
The NBPT Lions Yankee Homecoming Road Race is a running event held on Tuesday, July 28, 2026. It is the 66th running of the event, which takes place in the seaport town of Newburyport, Massachusetts.
Distances and Location
The event offers two distances:
- 5K (3.1 miles)
- 10 Miles The race is based at Newburyport High School. Packet pickup and race day registration also occur at the high school.
Course and Awards
The courses pass along the ocean, through the downtown area, and through New England neighborhoods. For the 10-mile race, there is a course time limit of 2.5 hours. Cash prizes are awarded to the overall top three finishers (male and female) in both distances. Age group awards are given for the top three in numerous categories.
Participant Perks
All finishers receive a custom finisher medal. Participants who register before July 1st receive a commemorative short-sleeve tech race shirt and a personalized bib number with their name on it (availability of shirts is not guaranteed after that date). There is a referral program where participants can earn a refund on their registration fee.
