Friends of the National Center Science Stride 5K

The Friends of the National Center Science Stride 5K will hold its second annual run/walk in Spring 2026 at Boulder Reservoir in Boulder, Colorado. The event is organized by Friends of the National Center and takes place at 5275 Reservoir Rd, Boulder, CO 80301.

The event offers both an in-person 5K and a Virtual 5K. Remote participants can run or walk at a location of their choosing, log their time, join a team, and receive a race t-shirt similar to in-person participants.

The Science Stride 5K is framed as a community event that brings together people who support STEM education. Participation supports Friends’ mission to inspire, support, and educate the next generation of scientists and researchers. Friends describes its commitment to addressing Earth system challenges by helping carry forward research and innovation at UCAR and NSF NCAR.
