Event overview
The SOAR 5K is scheduled for Saturday, April 25, 2026, in Golden, Colorado at 13000 W 10th Ave. The event is hosted by the Welchester Elementary School PTA and is the third annual SOAR 5K. Proceeds will support Welchester PTA projects, including upgrades to playground areas that are more than 20 years old.

- Kids Fun Run - 1K, ages 12 and under
Course, registration and logistics
The 5K run and walk follow a double loop course around Daniels Park and the Welchester Elementary community and include lower grade hills. The 5K walk follows the same course as the run. The Kids Fun Run is a 1K non-competitive loop through Welchester Tree Grant Park and takes place after the 5K walk.
Registration opens November 1, 2025. Entry fees listed: early bird $20 through February 28, and $25 from March 1 through April 25. Run/walk participants may purchase a tech t-shirt for $13; Kids Fun Run participants receive a free tech t-shirt. The last day to guarantee a t-shirt size is April 10. Welchester families registering 2-5 members receive a $5 discount per person. Pets are allowed if leashed and well behaved. The 5K course is suitable for strollers, wagons, and wheelchairs; those using them are asked to stay toward the back to allow runners to pass.
