Event Overview
The Nassau County Turkey Trot takes place in Eisenhower Park, located in East Meadow, New York. The event utilizes the area around the Nassau County Aquatic Center and encourages participants to support local charity efforts by bringing food donations to the race site or during pre-race check-in sessions.
The event features several categories for participation:
- 5k adult run
- 5k jogging stroller run
- 5k high school and youth run
- 1k Chase the Gobbler kids run
- Virtual Turkey Trot option
Adult participants are permitted to use jogging strollers during the 5k distance. For safety reasons, athletes with strollers are required to start at the rear of the field. The stroller category is not considered a competitive race, and no awards are presented for those pushing strollers. The youth and high school categories allow younger runners to participate in the full 5k distance, while the 1k "Chase the Gobbler" is specifically designed for children.
The in-person categories take place entirely within the grounds of Eisenhower Park. For those unable to attend the physical location, a virtual participation option is also available. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
