Nairn Highland Games Half Marathon, Nairn - 15 August 2026
The Nairn Highland Games Half Marathon is part of the Nairn Highland Games and is organised by Nairn Road Runners. The race is sponsored by Wright Johnston & Mackenzie and starts and finishes within the main games arena on grass, where runners may finish to the sound of massed pipes and drums.
The route is an approximately half marathon distance but is unmeasured and cannot be officially certified because the lap is not permanent. The course runs alongside the beach and harbour and out into open countryside before returning to the games arena. Organisers describe the course as fast and flat. There are four water stops on the course, and Active Root energy drink will be available at the water stations; a 10 percent discount code for Active Root is provided in the sign up email.
The starting point is The Links, Nairn. Registration takes place at the Registration Tent near the Cricket Pavilion, The Links, Nairn, and registration closes promptly at 12:00 pm. Online entry closes at midnight on 14 August 2026. The event holds a SAL permit. No refunds will be given unless the race is cancelled. A race time limit of 2 hours 30 minutes applies, after which course support will be withdrawn unless changed for weather reasons.
Over ear and in ear headphones are not permitted under Scottish Athletic rules; bone conduction headphones may be used at a runner's own risk. Changing facilities are available in the games tents but there is no secure storage for possessions and there are no shower facilities. Total places listed for the event are 295. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
