Nairn Half Marathon - 15 August 2026
The Nairn Highland Games Half Marathon is part of the Nairn Highland Games and is organised by Nairn Road Runners with sponsorship from Wright Johnston & Mackenzie. The race starts and finishes within the main games arena on grass, and runners may finish to the sound of the massed pipes and drums.
The route is approximately half marathon distance and is unmeasured; because the lap is not permanent the course is unable to be officially measured. The course runs alongside the beach and harbour and extends into open countryside before returning to the games arena. The route is described as flat.
There are four water stops on the course. Active Root energy drink will be available at the water stations and a 10% Active Root discount code is provided in the sign-up email. The stated race time limit is 2 hours 30 minutes; this may be changed for weather conditions and will be announced at the start if altered. Over ear and in ear headphones are not permitted under Scottish Athletic rules; bone conduction headphones may be used at the runner's risk and runners must be able to hear instructions from marshals or emergency crew.
Starting point is The Links, Nairn. The event holds a SAL permit. Online entry closes 14 August 2026. Changing facilities are available in the games changing tents; there is no secure area for property and showering facilities are unavailable.
