Nairn Half Marathon 2026
The Nairn Highland Games Half Marathon takes place on 15 August 2026 and is organised by Nairn Road Runners as part of the Nairn Highland Games. The event is sponsored by Wright Johnston & Mackenzie and starts and finishes within the main games arena on grass, where runners may finish to the sound of pipes and drums.
The route is approximately half marathon distance and is unmeasured, so it is not officially certified. The course runs alongside the beach and harbour and out into open countryside before returning to the games arena. The organisers describe the course as flat and comparatively fast. There are four water stops along the route and ACTIVE ROOT energy drink will be available at those stations. A 10 percent discount code for Active Root was provided in the sign up email.
The starting point is The Links, Nairn. Registration took place at the Registration Tent near the Cricket Pavilion on The Links. Online entry closed at midnight on 14 August 2026 and the event is listed as closed. Total places were 295.
The event is held under a SAL permit. No refunds are given unless the race is cancelled. A race time limit of 2 hours 30 minutes applies and may be changed for weather. Over ear and in ear headphones are not permitted under Scottish Athletics rules; bone conduction headphones may be used at a runner's own risk. Changing tents are available but there is no secure storage for possessions and there are no showering facilities. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
