Event overview
The Baxters Loch Ness Marathon & Festival of Running is scheduled for Sunday 27 September 2026. The event takes place in Inverness and along the shores of Loch Ness. The festival weekend includes a main marathon plus several shorter runs.

A route map and event video are available from the organiser. The finish area is by the river in Inverness and the marathon start is reached by organiser transport.
Entries, services and extras
Entry fees include a commemorative finisher’s medal, a technical finisher’s t-shirt, a goody bag, electronic timing for the Marathon and the River Ness 10K & Corporate Challenge, a downloadable finisher’s certificate, and complimentary post-race food. Marathon entries include transport to the start. The weekend programme also features a festival at the finish, a sports expo, official merchandise, prizes, travel packages and a training zone. Results and event photos are published after the race.
The event lists a number of official charity partners, including Macmillan Cancer Support, Alzheimer’s Society, Cancer Research UK and others, for runners who choose to fundraise.
