Loch Ness Marathon and Festival of Running
The Baxters Loch Ness Marathon and Festival of Running is a multi-distance sports event held in Scotland. The route takes participants along the shores of Loch Ness and through the city of Inverness. The event includes several distances and categories:
- Marathon
- River Ness 10K & Corporate Challenge
- River Ness 5K Fun Run
- Wee Nessie (an event for children)
For the Marathon and River Ness 10K, participants receive electronic timing. The entry fee covers a commemorative finisher’s medal, a technical t-shirt, and a goody bag. A downloadable finisher’s certificate and complimentary post-race food are also provided to runners.
The event weekend features a sports expo and a festival at the finish line. Transport is provided for marathon runners to reach the starting line. Participants may choose to fundraise for official charity partners, which support various health and community causes across the UK. The 10K Corporate Challenge is available for teams of four to six employees from the public and private sectors.
Inverness is the main hub for the event, accessible via an international airport and public transport including trains and buses. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
