The Lossiemouth Half
The Lossiemouth Half is a chip timed half marathon taking place in February 2027 in Lossiemouth, using a new looped course. The route is Scottish Athletics approved, runs on road and cycle paths, is described as flat, and the event is not a closed road race. The race begins and finishes at Lossiemouth Community Centre.
There is an option to purchase a bespoke medal at sign up. Valentines Day themes and dress code are welcomed and there are prizes for the top three fastest couples. Awards are presented for the top three male and top three female finishers; awards are given on gun time rather than chip time.
Registration, bib and timing chip collection take place at the rear of Lossiemouth Sports & Community Centre. Photo ID is required to collect a bib. There is an option for day before collection subject to confirmation, and the shoe timing chip is collected on the morning of the race.
The permit for the event sets specific rules: entrants must be over 18, running with buggies or pets is not permitted, and only bone conducting headphones are allowed. There are cut-off times for the different start waves and marshals are withdrawn at those cut-offs.
Basic free refreshments are provided at the finish. The community centre offers changing facilities, showers and toilets; limited toilets are available at the start. Parking is available at nearby beach car parks and at the leisure centre but is limited; car sharing is recommended. No bib transfers, deferrals or refunds are permitted.
