Beach Run at Jennette's Pier
The Nags Head Sunrise 5K Beach Race Series takes place on the shores of the Outer Banks in North Carolina. This event is held on the beach at Jennette's Pier and is designed to be family and walker friendly. Participants run or walk directly on the sand while experiencing the sunrise over the Atlantic Ocean.
The event offers two distinct distances:
- 5 km
- 1 mile
Both distances are chip timed for accuracy. The registration fee covers the timed race, a summer series event t-shirt, and a finisher medal for all participants. After crossing the finish line, runners can access a post-race cold breakfast and refreshments on-site.
Awards are presented for the 5 km distance to the top three male and female finishers overall. Specific categories also include the first place male and female in the 14 and under age group, as well as the top male and female in the Masters category for those aged 40 and over.
The race location is situated at 7223 S. Virginia Dare Trail, near milepost 16.5 on the Beach Road. There is no pre-race day packet pickup; instead, all participants must check in or register on-site on the morning of the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
