Event Overview
The Killer Dunes event is a 2-mile run/walk held at Jockey's Ridge State Park in Nags Head, North Carolina. The course takes place on the Jockey's Ridge sand dune system.
Race Details
The event is scheduled for July 3rd. There is a single race distance of 2 miles. The field is open to participants aged 12 and up. On-site parking is limited.
Course and Logistics
The race will be professionally timed. A water station will be available near the midpoint of the course. Strollers and pets are not permitted on the course.
Registration and Packet Pickup
Packet pick-up is scheduled for the day before the race at Jockey's Ridge State Park. There is no packet pick-up on the day of the event.
Awards and Amenities
All finishers receive a medal. Awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as to the top male and female in various age groups. A post-race party with food and drinks is available for registered participants.
Beneficiary
Proceeds from the event benefit Friends of Jockey's Ridge, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting Jockey's Ridge State Park. There is a $5 discount for active US military personnel and veterans. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
