Outer Banks Freedom 5k/1 Mile & Little Sparkler Fun Run
The Outer Banks Freedom event takes place on July 3, 2026 in Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina. The event starts and finishes at Kill Devil Hills Town Hall, in front of the Town War Memorial, and benefits the Outer Banks Giving Tree.
The program includes multiple distances:
- 5 km
- 1 mile
- 1 quarter mile fun run for ages 10 and under
Early packet pick-up is scheduled for July 2, 2026 at The Gym, located at 3712 Croatan Highway in Kitty Hawk. Entry fees for the 5 km and 1 mile events are listed at $50 with a reduced $45 rate for younger and older participants; the children’s fun run fee is $35 for ages 10 and under.
The event is presented by SUN Realty and The OBX Running Company. It is a chip timed event with professional services and event photography. Race fees include an event t-shirt, a unique finisher medal, chip timing, and light snacks and refreshments. Awards are given to top male and female finishers, first through third overall, masters awards for participants over 40, and age-group awards in ten year increments starting at under 10.
