Nags Head Sunrise 5k Beach Race Series
The Nags Head Sunrise 5k Beach Race Series is an athletic event held on the shores of the Outer Banks in North Carolina. The race takes place on the sand at the Epstein St. Beach Access, located at milepost 14.5 on the Beach Road. This event is designed to be accessible to walkers and families.
Participants can choose between two distances:
- 5k
- 1 Mile
The race utilizes chip timing for all participants. Included in the registration fee is an event t-shirt, a finisher medal, and access to a post-race cold breakfast with refreshments provided on-site. Awards for the 5k distance are presented to the top three male and female finishers overall. Additionally, recognition is given to the first-place male and female finishers in the 14 and under category, as well as the Masters category for those 40 and older.
There is no pre-race day packet pickup available for this event. Documentation and registration materials are distributed on the morning of the race at the event location. Walk-up registration is also available on-site during the morning of the event. The course offers views of the Nags Head shoreline and the Atlantic sunrise.
