NAAC Festival of Running 2026
The NAAC Festival of Running is organised by North Ayrshire Athletics Club and takes place at St Matthews Academy, Jacks Road, Saltcoats. The programme includes a chip timed 10 km race, a chip timed 2 km youth run and a 400 m fun run. The 10 km start and finish are on the athletics arena within the school grounds and the course is mostly flat with promenade sections, a tarmac old railway track, pavement sections and one small hill in the second half. Runners are advised to remain on pavements. The 2 km youth run also starts and finishes on the athletics arena and follows a flat route using the running track, surrounding gravel paths and grass. Both the 10 km and 2 km use race chips for timing. Prizes are awarded for first, second and third male and female finishers and for winners of U20, V40, V50, V60 and V70 categories. T-shirts and medals are provided for all 10 km and 2 km finishers.
Pre-entry is required by 30 August 2026 or when race limits are reached; entries will not be accepted on the day for the 10 km and 2 km. Limited parking is available on the school grounds and the site is about a 10 minute walk from Ardrossan South Beach railway station. Registration and toilet facilities will be confirmed in advance. A service fee of 4% (minimum 50p) applies to entries. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
