Run Dunlop - 6 September 2026
Run Dunlop is a community running event taking place in the village on Sunday 6 September 2026. It is described as an inclusive, family-friendly event with two course options and on-course support.
Distances
- 5 km fun run (open to those aged 12 and over)
- 2 km family fun run (prams, scooters and dogs on leads welcome)
The route starts on Kirkland Road, then follows Main Street, Stewarton Road, past the train station on Newmill Road and up Trindlegreen towards Uplawmoor. The 5 km turning point is the T-junction at the top of Trindlegreen. The 2 km turning point will be marked by marshalls between the village and Merrymouth Farm. Marshalls will be located at key points.
This is an out-and-back, self-timed event; participants are asked to keep left on the course. The route is not closed to traffic, so some vehicles may be present. Water will not be provided on the route; participants should bring their own if needed. Tail walkers will be in place.
Logistics note: registration takes place at Dunlop Playing Fields where 5 km runners receive a number and 2 km runners a wrist band. Entry is limited to 250 places, online entries are encouraged, and entries are non-transferrable and non-refundable. All racers receive a medal and refreshments will be available after the race. Most proceeds are allocated to Dunlop Primary Parent's Association with a portion donated to 23rd Ayrshire (Dunlop) Scout Group. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
