The Kenny Phillips 10 Mile Road Race around Cumbrae
The event takes place on 20 September 2026 and uses a certified 10 mile road course licensed by Scottish Athletics and conducted under UK Athletics rules. Entry closes on 14 September 2026 or when the field limit of 550 places is reached. Registration is at Garrison House in Millport and is scheduled for 12.30; the race will be chip timed by Perfect Timing. There are no refunds, no transfers, and no entries on the day.
The route follows the island road, the B896, in an anti clockwise direction. The course is described as very flat with a slope very near the end. A regular ferry service runs from Largs pier with a crossing of a little over ten minutes; a bus to Millport meets every ferry. Free refreshments are provided after the race and medals are awarded to all finishers. Changing and toilet arrangements are provided, with the Drop in Centre in College Street noted for women and other facilities to be confirmed for men.
The event incorporates the Ayrshire 10 mile championship. Age group categories are listed for men and women as 18-39, 40+, 50+, 60+, and 70+. Team prizes require club affiliation; the men’s first team is based on four to count and the women’s first team on three to count. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
