MyBFF 5K/8.13K : Seventh Annual Walk
The MyBFF 5K/8.13K is a community walk and run held on August 8, 2026, at Judson University in Elgin, Illinois (1151 N. State St.). The event raises funds for the My Best Friends Foundation to support friends fighting cancer and families who have lost someone to the disease. The event honors Rod Wittig and Sharon Berryhill; the 8.13 Km distance references August 13 and is about 5.0 miles.
Participants may take part in person or virtually. Available categories include individual and virtual entries for both distances and a MyBFF Friends category. Registration pricing is tiered: early registration is $30 through April 30, $35 through July 20, 2026, and $45 after July 20. Extra shirts are available for $25 each. All paid registrations before July 20 include a walk t-shirt; registrations after that date may receive a shirt but it is not guaranteed. In-person shirts are available for pick up on event day; virtual participant shirts will be mailed if registered by July 20 to ensure timely delivery.
The event offers additional ways to support the foundation without attending in person, including donations, buying an event t-shirt without race registration, and purchasing raffle tickets where winners do not need to be present.
