MyBFF 5K/8.13K Event Information
This is the Seventh Annual My BFF 5K/8.13K Walk supporting the My Best Friends Foundation. The event raises money to support friends fighting cancer and families who have lost someone to it. It honors the memory of Rod Wittig and Sharon Berryhill, with the 8.13K distance being a meaningful tribute.
The event takes place at Judson University (1151 N. State St., Elgin, IL) on August 8, 2026. Participants can choose to walk or run either in-person or virtually. Race distances are a 5K and an 8.13K (approximately 5.0 miles).
Registration fees are $30 through April 30, $35 through July 20, and $45 after July 20, 2026. All paid registrations before July 20 include an event t-shirt. Registrations after that date will attempt to receive a shirt but cannot be guaranteed. Extra shirts can be purchased for $25 each. Virtual participants will have their shirts mailed to them.
The event supports fundraising and donations, and participants can purchase raffle tickets or event merchandise without registering. It is organized by the My Best Friends Foundation. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
