MXLAN Neon Nights 5K
MXLAN Neon Nights 5K is an evening 5K run held as part of the MXLAN Summer Art & Music Festival at the McAllen Convention Center in McAllen, Texas. The course passes through the festival area and finishes within the festival grounds, where participants can remain to experience the event atmosphere. The festival highlights Latinx cultural influence in past, present, and future expressions.
The event includes a participant shirt, finisher medal, and runner bib. Runners are encouraged to wear bright colors and face paint to reflect the neon theme. Minimum age to participate is 7 years.
Registration for the race was online only and the event reached sold-out status. No race-day packet pickup is available. Packet pick-up was scheduled for Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at the McAllen Convention Center Ballroom Lobby; a representative was permitted to collect a packet on behalf of a registrant with a copy of the registrant’s photo ID showing date of birth.
Awards are given by gender with overall male and female placements and age-group awards from 13 and under up through 70 and older; award plaques are used for recognition. The race serves as the opening event for the 2026-2027 McAllen Marathon Running Series. If the event is cancelled or rescheduled for reasons beyond the organizer’s control, entry fees are not refunded. Transfer or refund requests must be submitted by the deadline of 14 days prior to race day; none are accepted after that deadline. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
