Event Details

The Dr. Estrada Legacy 5k Run is the second annual event held on Saturday, April 18, 2026. The main event is a 5k run/walk. There is also a Kids Run with a distance of one mile.

The race takes place on the Precinct 2 Hike and Bike Trail, also known as Bears Trail, in San Juan, Texas.

Registration and Perks

Registration for the 5k costs $25. Participants receive a finisher medal. A race shirt is included if registered before the deadline of April 3, 2026. The event is chip-timed by HogRacing Timing, and there are age group awards.

The Kids Run costs $15. It includes a finisher medal but does not include a shirt and is not chip-timed.

Background

The event honors Dr. Abram Estrada, an educator who served as Superintendent at Santa Rosa ISD and Principal at Kennedy Middle School. He was known for his commitment to the community and enjoyed running on the San Juan hike and bike trails.
