Glow Blue for CASA 15th Annual 5K Fun Run/Walk
The Glow Blue for CASA 5K is an evening event taking place at Edinburg Municipal Park in Texas. This annual 5K fun run and walk is held in recognition of Child Abuse Prevention Awareness Month. The gathering serves to support the mission of Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Hidalgo County, which provides volunteer representation for children in the foster care system.
The event features a single distance option for participants:
- 5 km fun run/walk
The evening begins with a candlelight vigil intended to honor children impacted by abuse and neglect. Following the vigil, the 5 km run and walk serves as a symbolic activity for hope and awareness. The proceeds from the event are directed toward CASA of Hidalgo County, Inc. to help fund advocacy for local children in foster care.
The course is located at 714 S. Raul Longoria Rd in Edinburg. Registration is open to the public, and participants have the option to act as fundraisers or donate to the cause. The event is designed to raise visibility for the need for dedicated voices in court for children in the community. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
