MVRRC 1st Annual Independence Day 5K Road Race (Cash Prize)
The event takes place on July 4, 2026 at Lake Perris State Recreation Area, Dam area, 17801 Lake Perris Drive, Perris, CA 92571. It is organized as a community running event with separate races for different ages.
Event distances and entry fees include:
- 200 m Toddler Dash for ages 5 and under, free
- 1 mile Kids race, $5 entry
- 3 miles Main run, $20 entry
Awards and event services are listed for participants. The kids race will recognize the top three boys and the top three girls. The main run awards the top three male and top three female finishers with cash prizes of $150, $75, and $50. The course is USATF certified and the event uses live professional chip timing. The first 100 registered runners are listed to receive free shirts and finisher medals are provided to participants.
Logistics include a park entrance fee of $20 per vehicle. Fisherman’s Lot parking is limited to 49 vehicles plus three handicap spaces; overflow parking is available at Lot 1, approximately a half mile walk from the start/check-in area.
