About the race
MTC Scotia is a nine-day ultra from Gretna Green to John O’Groats. Part of the Mount to Coast End to End series, it forms The Myths & Legends of Scotia, with each day named after a Scottish mythical figure. The route covers 370 miles, stopping at Edinburgh, Perth, Pitlochry, Kingussie, Inverness, Dornoch and Dunbeath, averaging about 41 miles per day.
Accommodation is hotel-based for eight nights with meals included; runners arrange start and finish stays themselves. Limited to 20 entrants, it’s cup-free, trackable in real time, with a 4 mph daily target. Finisher rewards include Scotia Medal, Scotia Trophy, champagne, and day medals.
