Event overview
The MTC Scotia is a nine day end-to-end ultra running challenge across Scotland, following a route from Gretna Green to John O'Groats. The route covers approximately 370 miles with total ascent of 26,629 ft and total descent of 26,625 ft. The event includes hotel accommodation for eight nights, with food and support provided by the organiser. Competitor places are limited to 20. All finishers receive a Scotia medal, a Scotia trophy, a bottle of champagne and a bespoke medal for each of the nine days completed.

Route, logistics and rules
The route follows the organiser’s LEJOG course and stops at Innerleithen, Edinburgh, Perth, Pitlochry, Kingussie, Inverness, Dornoch and Dunbeath. Maps and GPX files are provided to entrants only, issued before the event. The organiser issues a tracking device with an SOS function to each competitor.
Competitors must carry mandatory kit including a backpack, head torch with spare batteries, route maps, compass or GPS, whistle, mobile phone and a basic first aid pack. The event enforces a minimum average of 4 mph; competitors who fall below this may be withdrawn. No runner is permitted to continue on course after 22:00. Accommodation is provided on a shared-room basis unless private rooms are arranged in advance.
Entry and payment
Standard entry is listed at £1,800 with a £400 deposit and staged instalments. A charity entry option requires a deposit and a minimum fundraising target of £3,000. All payments are non-refundable under the organiser’s terms. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
