Entrants receive personalized hi-viz technical t-shirts and a hi-viz jacket; the head sponsor supplies footwear. Route maps and GPX files are provided to entrants four weeks before the event.

Competitors must carry mandatory kit including a backpack, head torch with spare batteries, route maps, compass or GPS, whistle, mobile phone, basic first aid and emergency food. The organiser provides a tracking device with an SOS button. There is a minimum average speed requirement of 4 mph; falling below this on consecutive days will result in withdrawal.
