MTC Scotia (29 May - 6 June 2027)
The MTC Scotia is a nine day end-to-end event from Gretna Green to John O'Groats. It is part of the Mount to Coast End to End Challenge series. The route covers a total of 370.3 miles with recorded ascent of 26,629 ft and descent of 26,625 ft. The organiser provides hotel accommodation for eight nights, with food and support included. Competitor numbers are limited to 20 and this is the 1st edition.
Route, daily distances, logistics and rules
The route follows the same line as the MTC LEJOG event and stops at Innerleithen, Edinburgh, Perth, Pitlochry, Kingussie, Inverness, Dornoch and Dunbeath before finishing at John O'Groats.

Maps and GPX files are supplied to entrants only, typically emailed four weeks before the event. The organiser provides a tracking device with an SOS button and real-time tracking during the race. Entrants must carry mandatory kit including a backpack, head torch with spare batteries, provided route maps, compass or GPS, whistle, mobile phone, basic first aid and an emergency food pack. A minimum average speed of 4.0 mph is enforced; falling below this on consecutive days may lead to withdrawal. No competitor is permitted to continue on course after 22:00.
