MTC REDCAP
The MTC REDCAP is a single day ultramarathon covering 55.1 miles. The route starts at the Gretna Chase Hotel, Gretna, and finishes at the Traquair Arms Hotel, Innerleithen. The event is also Day 1 of the nine day MTC SCOTIA end to end challenge, so some competitors will run alongside multi day SCOTIA entrants.
The field is limited to 20 dedicated REDCAP entries with an additional allowance of 20 SCOTIA competitors, giving a maximum of 40 race numbers. Entry options and fees listed are: standard entry £90.00 and a Plus Race Package at £155.00 which includes an embroidered race shirt and a lightweight hi viz race jacket when ordered at least four weeks before the event. All payments and deposits are non refundable; a defer option is available for a fee of £15 up to four weeks before the event.
The route includes four check points at Lockerbie, Langholm and two locations near Selkirk before the finish. Organisers operate preset cut offs based on a minimum average speed of 4.0 miles per hour; falling below this standard may result in withdrawal. The event is cup free and entrants are expected to carry a reusable cup.
All finishers receive a bespoke REDCAP medal. Male and female champions will receive trophies. Maps and GPX files, plus real time tracking and issued tracking devices with SOS functionality, are provided to entrants only. Competitors must comply with mandatory kit requirements and age rules.
