MTC LEJOG 2028
MTC LEJOG is an end to end ultra running event covering the full route between Land's End and John O'Groats. The course is almost entirely on road and is updated annually to improve competitor safety. The total routed distance is approximately 852.3 miles run over a maximum of 17 days.
Entrant numbers are strictly limited to 12. The event uses preset cut off times based on a minimum average speed of 4 mph; competitors who fall below this minimum on consecutive days will be withdrawn. No competitor may continue on course after 22:00. URL provides checkpoint support at flexible intervals, checkpoint food examples include malt loaf, sandwiches, sweets, squash, cola and water, and the race is cup free so competitors must use a reusable cup.
Fully paid entrants receive branded hi viz clothing and a pair of road shoes from the head sponsor approximately two months before the event. If a competitor elects to complete the whole event using only the sponsor shoes, a second pair will be supplied at the start. URL issues a tracking device to each competitor with real time monitoring and an SOS function. Maps and GPX files are supplied to entrants only and are emailed around four weeks before the race.
Accommodation is provided by the organiser from the end of Day 1 through to the end of Day 16; entrants must arrange their own accommodation at the start and after the finish. Entry options include a charity route with a non refundable deposit of £300 and a minimum fundraising target of £4,500, or a paid entry priced at £3,200 with an £800 deposit and staged instalments. All entrants must meet the mandatory kit requirements and be at least 20 years old on the event start day. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
