Event overview
The MTC LEJOG is a 17-day multi-day running event from Land's End to John O'Groats. The course is almost entirely on road and is staged over daily sections. Competitor numbers are limited to 12. Total distance is 854 miles with total ascent of 16,589 m and total descent of 16,604 m. The event carries 6 UTMB points. Full entry is priced at £3,200 with deposit and instalment options; a charity entry option is available with a non-refundable deposit of £300 and a minimum fundraising requirement of £4,500. Entrants must meet the organiser age requirement.

Accommodation is provided by the organiser from the end of Day 1 to the end of Day 16; competitors must arrange accommodation at the start and after the finish. The organiser provides hi-viz clothing and sponsor footwear to entrants. Maps and GPX files are supplied to competitors before the event and real-time tracking devices with SOS capability are issued. Mandatory kit includes backpack, head torch, route maps, compass or GPS, whistle, mobile phone and basic first aid. The event enforces a minimum average of 4 mph; falling below this may lead to withdrawal. No competitor may continue on course after 22:00. Finishers receive a medal, trophy and a bottle of champagne; an additional medal is awarded at Gretna Green. The nominated charity is Spinal Research.
