Event details

MTC JOGLE 2026 is a 17-day multi-day road ultra running event from John O'Groats to Land's End, held 14th–30th March 2026. The route covers about 852 miles with approximately 16,604 m of ascent and 16,589 m of descent. The event carries 6 UTMB points. Competitor numbers are limited to 12 and entrants must be at least 20 years old on the start day. All finishers receive a medal, a finisher technical t‑shirt, a trophy and a bottle of champagne. The race is cup-free; competitors should bring a reusable cup. Mount to Coast supplies a pair of road running shoes to each paid entrant about two months before the race and will provide a second pair at the start if the competitor elects to run the whole event in the supplied shoes.

Entry options include a full entry fee of £3,200 payable by deposit and instalments, and a charity entry with a non-refundable deposit of £300 that requires a minimum fundraising target of £4,500. All payments and deposits are non-refundable. Personal cancellation insurance can be added at booking.

Route, logistics and rules

The route is almost entirely on road and is updated annually for safety. Maps and GPX files are supplied to entrants about four weeks before the race. Accommodation is provided by the organiser from the end of Day 1 to the end of Day 16; competitors must book their own accommodation at the start and after the finish. Check-points are typically offered at roughly 8 mile intervals and checkpoint food includes items such as sandwiches, cakes, sweets, squash, cola and water. Competitors receive a tracking device with an SOS function.

Minimum requirements include carrying mandatory kit (backpack, head torch with spare batteries, provided route maps, compass or GPS, whistle, mobile phone, basic first aid and emergency food). The organiser enforces preset cut-off times based on a minimum average of 4 mph; runners falling below this may be withdrawn. No runner may continue on course after 22:00. If a competitor retires, the organiser will transfer them to the nearest train station or agreed terminus. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
