John O'Groats 10K
The John O'Groats 10 km is described as the most northerly 10K on the UK mainland. The event is organised by North Highland Harriers as a fundraiser for Thurso RNLI, with a minimum of £5 from each entry fee donated directly to the station. The listed event date is Sunday 13 September 2026.
The course is scenic and undulating, running mainly on quiet country lanes and mostly single-track roads around the John O'Groats area. The route offers views across to Stroma and the Orkneys, and finishes at the John O'Groats signpost. The start is at the John O'Groats Mill and is a short walk of about 800 m from the registration and finish area.
Registration takes place from a retail unit near the main John O'Groats carpark (KW14 4YR). There is a separate, dedicated event carpark that will be signposted and is very close to registration; the route between that carpark and registration is signposted. Public toilets are available at John O'Groats near the finish. Prizes include trophies, medals and spot prizes. The minimum age to enter is 16. Entry fees shown are £18 for Scottish Athletics members and £20 for non members, with entries recorded on the organiser's entry list. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
