MTC Black Shuck

The MTC Black Shuck is a single day ultra running event covering 45 miles. The route runs from Bridgwater through to Crediton, following the same course used by the organiser's JOGLE event but with a reduced daily distance. The race also functions as Day 10 of the MTC ALBION thirteen day end to end of England series.

Field sizes are limited to 20 individual Black Shuck entries with an additional allowance of 20 ALBION competitors, creating a maximum of 40 starters. The event enforces a minimum average pace of 4.0 miles per hour; competitors falling below this requirement will be withdrawn. All finishers receive a Black Shuck medal and male and female champions receive bespoke trophies.

Maps and GPX files are supplied only to confirmed entrants and are emailed approximately four weeks before the event. Organisers provide tracking devices with SOS capability to monitor competitor progress. The race is cup free so competitors must use their own reusable cup.

Mandatory equipment includes a backpack, head torch with spare batteries, route maps as provided, compass or GPS device, whistle, mobile phone, basic first aid kit and emergency food. Entrants must be aged 20 years or over on the start day. Entry fees are non refundable; there is an option at checkout to add personal cancellation insurance and to upgrade the entry to include a race shirt and hi viz jacket. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
