Weston Christmas Cracker 10K
The Weston Christmas Cracker is an annual road and beach running event organised by Weston AC. Race headquarters are at The Royal Hotel Ballroom, Royal Parade, South Parade, Weston-super-Mare BS23 1JP, and the race start is on the beach by the Grand Pier. The event raises funds for Weston Hospicecare and other local charities; in 2024 it raised over £10,000.
Distances
- Approx. 10 km course on tarmac and beach
- Approx. 1 mile junior course on the beach
The adult course is approximately 10 km, mostly flat, and is not suitable for wheelchairs. Race support includes a lead car, distance markers, marshals, first aid and a finish water station. Chip timing is used and all finishers receive a medal. Prizes are awarded to top male and female finishers plus various veteran categories, and there are individual and team fancy dress prizes.
Facilities at the Royal Hotel include race headquarters, supervised kit storage at owners risk, and refreshments. Entry details published by the organiser include online fees, a closing date, minimum age requirements for the adult race, and that race numbers must be collected from the Royal Hotel.
