Route, cut-offs and kit

There are three staffed checkpoints on the course, and organisers operate preset cut-offs based on a minimum average speed of 4.0 mph; competitors who fall below this requirement may be withdrawn. Competitors receive tracking devices with SOS buttons and GPX/maps are provided only to entrants by email before the event.

Competitors must carry a mandatory kit list that includes a backpack, head torch with spare batteries, maps, compass or GPS, whistle, mobile phone, basic first aid and blister treatment, and an emergency food pack. The race is cup-free; runners should bring a reusable cup. All finishers receive a bespoke BEITHIR medal and male and female champions receive trophies.
