Event overview
The MTC BEITHIR is a one-day ultra running event held on 3 June 2027. The route runs from Forces Manor, Kingussie, to Travelodge Inverness and is part of the Mount to Coast End to End Challenge series. It is also listed as Day 6 of the MTC SCOTIA multi-day challenge. The distance is approximately 39 miles (total distance shown as 38.5 miles). Reported ascent is 2,256 ft and descent is 2,978 ft. This is the first edition of the event.
Logistics and rules
Competitor numbers are limited to 20, with an additional allowance of 20 places for SCOTIA entrants (maximum 40). Entry fees are stated as £90 for the standard entry and £155 for the Plus Race Package, which includes an embroidered race shirt and lightweight hi-viz jacket if ordered at least four weeks before the event. All entries and payments are non-refundable. Entrants must be 20 years or older on race day.
The race enforces a minimum average speed of 4.0 mph; preset cut-off points are applied and competitors who fall below the minimum may be withdrawn. The event is cup-free. Organisers provide a tracking device with real-time monitoring and an SOS function. Route maps and GPX files are supplied to entrants by email about four weeks before the event. Mandatory kit includes a backpack, head torch with spare batteries, route maps, compass or GPS, whistle, mobile phone, basic first aid and emergency food.
