Aviemore Triathlon 2026
The Aviemore Triathlon takes place on 13th September 2026 at the Badaguish Outdoor Centre in Aviemore, within the Cairngorms National Park. The event uses Loch Morlich for open water swims and the trails of Glenmore Forest for mountain biking and trail running.
There are two race options with the following distances:
- Long Hard Durty: 1,000m swim, 18km mountain bike, 9km trail run
- Short Fast Durty: 500m swim, 12km mountain bike, 5km trail run
Swims are in open water with deep water starts and wetsuits are compulsory. The Long Hard Durty swim is two laps; the Short Fast Durty swim is one lap. The mountain bike sections use a mix of forest roads and singletrack. The short course is mostly blue standard or easier; the long course includes steeper red and black technical sections. Mountain bikes and helmets are compulsory on the long course and gravel bikes are not permitted; mountain bikes are recommended for the short course.
Race services and venue details include full water safety and medical cover, chip timing, well stocked aid stations, a finisher’s t-shirt or a donation to the nominated charity, and on-site camping pods and pitches with showers and toilets. The Long Hard Durty will be the British and Scottish Triathlon Cross Championship event for 2026. The organiser has reduced single-use waste at feed stations and notes that race numbers are recyclable. Entries close 8th September 2026.
