The race covers approximately 4.5 miles with a vertical ascent of 1,200 feet, taking runners through the stunning Highland landscape, including river crossings and mountain climbs before finishing back in the arena. It is known for testing endurance and strength, attracting both male and female competitors, with record times of 26 minutes 49 seconds for men and 32 minutes 21 seconds for women.
