MTC Angelystor event

The MTC Angelystor is a single-day ultra run scheduled for 14 April 2026. The course covers approximately 37.5 miles with about 1,980 ft of ascent and 1,973 ft of descent. This race is Day 1 of the six-day MTC CYMRUN end-to-end of Wales and also forms part of the Mount to Coast End to End Challenge series. The edition shown is the first.

Route, entry and rules

The route starts near the Boathouse Hotel, Holyhead, and finishes at the Travelodge, Caernarfon. Most of the course follows National Cycle Route 8, with a short deviation of about one mile near the start. Check-points are listed at RAF Valley Park (about 7.8 miles), Bethel (about 16.8 miles), and Gaerwen (about 25.2 miles). Maps and GPX files are provided to entrants and emailed about four weeks before the event. URL issues tracking devices with SOS capability.

Entries are limited to 20 standard places plus 20 CYMRUN places (maximum 40). The main entry fee is £90; a plus package including a race shirt and hi-viz jacket is £155. All fees are non-refundable; a defer option is available for a fee up to four weeks before the event. Competitors must be 20 years or older on race day and carry mandatory kit including a backpack, head torch with spare batteries, route maps, compass or GPS, whistle, mobile phone, emergency food and a basic first aid kit. A minimum average speed of 4.0 mph applies and will be enforced with cut-offs and possible withdrawal. The event is cup-free; competitors should use a reuseable cup.
